A little bit about us

VIVO

VIVO Realty opened its first storefront location in Plano in 2011 with the promise to change the real estate brokerage model, forever. VIVO, Co-Founders David Maez Jr. and Bernice Maez (mother to David) spent over ten years as a top-performing team as The Maez Group with RE/MAX. But with all of their success, each year, they would meet new agents who would come in and out of the real estate business, often frustrated and untrained.

VIVO is Born

The Maezes knew the real estate brokerage model that thrived on "doing things they way they have always been done" was in dire need of change. In the summer of 2011 after a long conversation at the dinner table with David Sr. who has an extensive background in corporate tech (CISCO, ERICSSON) and start-up tech (Navini Networks) they decided to partner together and create VIVO Realty. It would be their mission to use technology and marketing to take real estate into the future. Instead of watching agents leave the real estate industry, VIVO would lead and train them to be valuable experts in the industry who would guide their clients through the home buying and selling process.

What's in a Name

Let us not forget to mention how the name was born. So, we spoke about David Sr.s tech background, right? Well, he was coming up with names that sounded like pharmaceutical companies (typical Engineer) until one stuck --VIVO. David Jr. only had to google the word once to read that the Latin derived word meant, "alive" and "living" and that was it. After a few of David's sketches, the logo was created, and soon after that the tagline, #STARTLIVING was born.

The Future is Bright

In 2014 the second VIVO location was opened in Uptown Dallas, and in fall of 2017 VIVO will open its newest concept VIVO Bishop Arts, which will function as a fun storefront gathering place for agents, clients, andpassersbyin the hip north Oak Cliff neighborhood. Here's to living. Here's to the future!
