In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day ownership of complex, rapidly expanding Azure cloud solutions, including migrations, deployments, and troubleshooting activities while enforcing standards for security, sustainability, scalability, and operations. You will be responsible for meeting our customers' demands for the highest quality and availability. The successful candidate will have a broad technical background with a concentration on Azure Cloud Services. The succesful candidate should also expect to be called into customer engagements, pre-sales consultations, and be available to provide management and support for Azure based workloads. Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous and can demonstrate superb technical competency, managing mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. The desire and ability to work in the fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Directly support our Azure customers and resolve critical and complex technical issues.
  • Conduct in-depth diagnostics on Azure platform and services to quickly identify customer issues specific to the Azure Services or Azure Platform.
  • Utilize your deep technical and product expertise, and combine it with your understanding of customers' needs to solve their complex business challenges.
  • Work with T4G software engineering teams to deliver solutions and new capabilities for our customers' Azure deployment.
  • Develop and execute migration strategies for clients moving workloads to Azure IaaS or PaaS.
  • Build new tools and automation to automate troubleshooting and diagnostic activities.
  • Be a change agent to develop innovative ways to resolve customer's issues.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles, forums and mentoring members of your team.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems, applications and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify solutions and work with developers to implement fixes.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Prepare technical specifications and requirements for various project.
  • Participate in discussions with architecture team around standards and best practices.
  • Present formal recommendations for review by peers, defend recommendations in team discussions.
  • Continually pursue opportunities for personal career development.
  • Maintain knowledge of cloud technologies and innovations in relevant areas.
  • Qualify vendor software releases for production readiness.
  • Go above and beyond to delight the customer.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering/technical position
  • Desired B.S./B.A. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Equivalent Experience.
  • Certification in Microsoft and/or competing Cloud Technologies.
  • Passion for customers and focus on delivering the right customer experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies across Windows and Linux, with demonstrated hands-on experience on one or more of the following domains:
    • Azure Core Platform: Compute, Storage, Networking
    • Data Platform: MS SQL, Azure DB
    • Identity and Authentication: SSO/Federation, AD/Azure AD, MFA, etc.
    • Azure Application Development or support experiences with Azure PaaS services (Redis Cache, Service Bus, Event Hub, Cloud Service, IoT suite, Mobile Apps, etc.)
    • Website troubleshooting & coding experience: IIS, Azure App Services, PHP, Apache, Tomcat, WordPress, etc.
  • Practical experience using PowerShell, Python, Chef, and Puppet is a huge plus
  • Experience in executing "lift-and-shift" migrations to Azure.
  • Managing concurrent projects and planning transitions between projects
  • Applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Applicant must be willing and able to travel to the United States
  • Candidate must be able to undergo criminal record check and federal security clearance screening
