The Opportunity
We're on a mission to transform the insurance space.. As a key member of our first new venture in the InsurTech space, you will help establish a next-generation reinsurance solution in the Property & Casualty (P&C) market.
Our venture is fully backed by Highline BETA, a startup co-creation and venture capital firm based in Toronto, Canada, with extensive experience structuring new ventures with companies such as Royal Bank of Canada and Anheuser-Busch InBev.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
You will be the first product manager for a new InsurTech startup, working closely with the Entrepreneur in Residence leading the venture, to define the product strategy and roadmap, while also managing the day to day details of execution and delivery. You will be leading and inspiring a product development team through the end-to-end lifecycle of building a product that customers love, from discovery to launch and iteration.
- Lead product discovery activities, such as user interviews and market research
- Assist with sales demos / pitches, in person and remotely
- Become the domain expert for reinsurance while distributing that expertise
- Build, prioritize, and effectively manage / communicate the product roadmap
- Run product development sprints, with a bias for launching and learning quickly
This is a highly entrepreneurial opportunity and you will have the autonomy and agency to shape both the startup and your role going forward.

Qualifications
You're perfect for this role if you:
- Are looking for the next step in your career and are willing to join a higher-risk higher-return entrepreneurial endeavour to get to the next level (with the full backing of an established incubator and proven entrepreneurs)
- Have experience breaking down complex enterprise processes and workflows, and transforming them into simple product experiences that delights users
- Have shipped product in the past (web & mobile; bonus points for B2B experience)
- Have experience working in startups and managing multiple competing priorities at the same time
- Can easily navigate between strategy and execution and love getting your hands dirty building things
- Ability to analyse and leverage both qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision making
- Believe in a Lean, iterative, experiment-driven approach
- Experience in Design Thinking; research and customer-centric design principles
- Are a versatile self-starter (able to be autonomous but also know when to ask for help)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional product management experience
- Experience working with small product teams (designer + developers) to execute and ship product
- Experience identifying requirements, scoping features / projects, working with designers and developers to mock up and prototype interfaces
- Experience growing product teams, or coaching / mentoring other product managers
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- A drive to get better every day and always looking for opportunities to learn
