Responsibilities

The day-to-day of a Senior Developer at UFred:

The Senior Developer, reporting directly to the Manager of Development, is responsible for the development of world-class learning solution projects for all industries. The position is also responsible for working with the team to streamline efforts required to design and develop courses, that are reflective of the latest trends in development and technologies. Meticulously detail oriented and creative, UFred's future Senior Developer isn't afraid of hard work, and is eager to showcase some of their best projects.

As a Senior Developer, you can expect to:

  • Develop custom learning solutions on multiple platforms
  • Handle UI-UX Development
  • Work closely with designers to create interactive activities such as click and displays, scenarios, simulations, etc.
  • Work with LMS Administration, to upload and test on internal systems, create user accounts for students/clients, and deliver login information
  • Explore new technologies to enhance the department’s internal processes and procedures
  • Help enhance our team and goal-oriented environment
  • Assist in mentoring junior/intermediate team members
  • Work collaboratively with a team of talented Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, and LMS Administrators
  • Update and improve existing courses
  • Ensure our final products exceed quality standards

What you'll need

Qualifications

Some of the things we look for in a Senior Developer include:

  • Experience with Moodle, Lectora, Cisco WebEx, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with the Programming Languages HTML5, CSS, Javascript, and PHP
  • The ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Effective problem-solving and technical trouble-shooting skills
  • The ability to work individually in a goal-oriented environment
  • The ability to schedule work and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to foster strong working relationships with all levels within the company

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position (35 hours), under regular business hours. The position is available in Fredericton, NB.
