CareGuide is one of Canada’s fastest growing startups. We make it easier for families and individuals to find care for their loved ones through a portfolio of specialized marketplaces, including Housekeeper.com, Nanny Lane, ElderCare.com, and 26 others.

We have a history of being unorthodox. In 2015, we acquired CanadianNanny.ca and tripled its revenue within a year. In 2016, we made our foray into FinTech through an in-house payroll solution, and we’ve built a one-of-a-kind investor group including over 60 successful entrepreneurs.

We’re a pretty tight-knit group. Our regular team socials, bi-weekly cross-team meetups, and catered Friday lunches help with this, but the real secret is hiring people who care about their colleagues and are excited to build something big.

Looking for a PR Boss

We run several unique automated marketing systems (which have powered our outstanding growth to date). One of the most green field marketing opportunities at CareGuide is an oldie but a goodie: PR. Underrated and sexy as ever. There are a lot of layers to this onion, and the opportunities for press are yours to discover. CareGuide has been featured in articles and TV alike, and we are looking for someone gregarious, organized, and gritty to share CareGuide’s impact with the world.

What this looks like
We operate in a highly autonomous environment, so this channel is yours to own; experimenting with different story angles, building relationships with reporters, and increasing the number of people who know about CareGuide and its brands are all under your purview. You’ll envision the strategy, and you call the shots on how it is executed. The challenge for you to solve is generating positive buzz about the trails we are blazing at CareGuide.


About you
To enjoy this role, your friends have probably told you at some point that you’re great with people. You can conjure up creative story angles, and have no hesitation building relationships with the right people to get a story covered. You are gritty, resourceful, and are driven by solving hard problems.

 You are a born and bred marketing nerd, or at least you want to be. You’re motivated by making an impact and seeing your work move the needle (we’re talkin’ growing revenue, getting more people to use our marketplaces, and increasing awareness of CareGuide and its brands across North America).

You are pathologically analytical, or at least seek to develop a deep comfort with deriving decisions from data (bonus if you noticed the alliteration). You may or may not be entrepreneurial, but you are definitely ambitious. You’ve got big dreams and want a strong company like CareGuide to help you get there. You don’t wait for permission to get things done; you thrive in an autonomous environment.

You most likely have experience or an interest in psychology, behavioural economics, consumer behaviour, sales, communications, public relations, or other areas of marketing.
