The Opportunity
Following a rapid training period, the successful candidate will be immediately involved in a rapidly expanding project that is bringing computer vision to agriculture. This involvement will focus on the operation and optimization of hardware systems, linking optical technologies to farm-management equipment in order to meet defined requirements. The work will be carried out in grape field environments, operating machine vision cameras to capture crop image data on 10 localized plots following a set schedule to ensure timely and efficient capture of crop data. This position will require travel between Nashik and Khedgaon.

Highlight of Responsibilities
- Carry out camera calibration, noise reduction and optimization in challenging environmental conditions to meet defined requirements
- Test/debug hardware and software
- Meet data collection requirements in terms of quality and quantity by following Resson protocols
- Process, organize and route data to the Canadian Data Science team by following Resson protocols
- as required
- Safely store data and equipment at designated location at the end of each day
- Remain available for evening meetings with Canadian office throughout the week
Requirements
- Familiarity with the state of the art in computer vision hardware
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software
- Failure-analysis skills
- Able to work outside in high temperatures
- Able to work up to 10 hour days and 40 hours per week
- Self-directed and self-motivated
- English language proficiency
