Halifax, NS Administrative and Clerical Experienced Full-time

McInnes Cooper is seeking a motivated and proactive Document Automation Specialist to join our Legal Services team in a full time permanent position. Location for this position is flexible. Travel may be required.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

As a Document Automation Specialist you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with practice area specialists to develop precedent sets
  • Code and develop documents for use in a document automation system
  • Work closely with Systems Analysts for any development requirements of document automation system that may be necessary to achieve long term needs and goals
  • Assist with change management
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate and reliable documentation of document package development, use and change
  • Making informed business decisions necessary to develop document sets for long term use and continuous improvements
  • Work closely with Legal Professional Resources to develop document sets to gain maximum efficiencies from time keepers while providing maximum value to our clients

What you'll need

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following skill set:

  • Be an upcoming or recent graduate with a Bachelor in Computer Science and/or Diploma in IT Programming or related education or transferable experience
  • Excel in a demanding, high-pace environment, be highly detail-oriented, and be flexible to changing priorities. Previous experience in a law firm would be preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional technology skills, with proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, proficiency in Microsoft Word (specifically styles and formatting) is required.
  • Working in a team environment, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, will be strong team player and have high personal integrity
  • Strong template development/style engine skills
  • Coding with the use of logic statements, clause libraries, taxonomy and field/data identification
  • Must be able to self guide for continuous education and advancement in their specialized skills and require minimal supervision
  • Must be an out of the box thinker and able to apply creative uses to existing tools and available resources
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a related field
