CAA Atlantic is seeking a Director of Public & Government Affairs for Atlantic Canada for a 2-year contract. The Director of Public & Government Affairs will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications for CAA Atlantic.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the Director of Public & Government Affairs will include:

· Monitor relevant government and public legislation and activities associated with CAA's key advocacy files.

· Execute the Public & Government Affairs strategy.

· Lead Public & Government Affairs campaigns and initiatives.

· Develop and manage external Public & Government Affairs stakeholder relationships.

· Manage media relations.

· Direct the Corporate and Community Social Responsibility efforts of CAA Atlantic.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Qualified candidates possess the following skills and experience:

· University graduate in a relevant discipline (Public Relations, Communications, Journalism).

· 10+ years of relevant work experience.

· Current and direct experience in the management of a company's Public & Government Affairs strategy.

· Experience in media relations.

· Solid organizational and priority management skills.

· Proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.

· Innovative and dynamic, this person will be a problem-solver and a solution-maker.

· Bilingualism would be an asset.
