Position Description

We’re looking for a talented content creator to share the creative work and fabrication going on every day in our studio, and at events across the States and Canada. With an upcoming event always just a few days away, our close-knit team wears many hats in building our thriving creative studio. As an energetic gets-shit-done person, your experience will be no different – splitting your time between creating content and working on-site at events. In studio, you will execute on our content calendar — planning, crafting, designing, photographing, editing, and sharing our work. You’ll build visual stories that show how we use our laser cutters, 3D printers, and other tech. On-site at events, you'll be setting up our interactives and leading a team to engage guests in the experience, sometimes capturing the action as photographer too. Your work will be challenging and your opinions will matter. An independent, forward thinking mindset will serve you well, as well a willingness to do, fail, learn, and repeat. Your responsibilities will include:

Photograph everything! And the gorgeous stuff more. Seriously, your skills in product and event photography will serve you well. You’ll craft visual stories that help our community and clients understand the interactive experiences we create. Your experience with your SLR camera and Photoshop will show, and your attention to detail and our brand identity will matter.

Designing for Digital Tools
While there’ll be lots of subject matter from our client projects for you to capture, you’ll often need to show off what our tools can do by designing, experimenting, and creating your own work. You’ll use your experience with Adobe Illustrator every day.

Social Media + Digital Marketing
Here’s where it all comes together. You’ll own the execution of our content strategy, posting regularly and strategically to our social media channels. You’ll manage our presence online, engaging with designers, makers, and our community at large.

Field Management
Nearly every project culminates in a live exhibition of our technology. You’ll spend much of your time on-site at events, setting up our interactives, and leading our event team in guiding guests through hands-on experiences. You'll also take opportunities to photograph the experience.

You'll help with a wide variety of operational errands, from supply pickups to equipment maintenance.

  • You’re a great photographer, and know how to tell a story visually.
  • You can handle a flexible schedule and are able to work evenings and weekends
  • You're an exceptional communicator
  • You’re a collaborator and can take charge when necessary
  • You have your passport, can travel to the USA and overseas, and like to do so
  • You don’t mind the small tasks and know they make all the difference in the big picture
  • You’re detailed enough to have read this really important instruction — you’ll start your cover letter by mentioning your favourite instagram account and why :)
  • Deep skills with Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Wide understanding of Social Media best practices
  • You have a driver's license and are comfortable driving long distances

Company Description

Three years ago, we took eight 3D printers to a Toronto bar and taught design ‘till last call. We’ve since taken all our tools out of the lab, inventing ways to spark wonder and creativity in unexpected places. We stretch technology beyond its design intent, creating accessible, collaborative, and interactive experiences at events around the world. Our studio is filled with laser cutters, light tables, fabric printers, projectors and food photo booths. Creative people looking to solve interesting technical and design challenges will find their place here.
