We are a fun, flexible, innovative, project-based consulting firm based in Toronto, looking to expand our Analytics practice and we are seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer.
We are seeking a proven DevOps engineer that can develop and implement solutions from start to finish. You will perform as a subject matter expert for designing and managing Cloud IaaS and PaaS Services. This includes detailed design and deployment of cloud services frameworks and blueprints. Additionally, you will;
- design and implement automated delivery pipelines for cloud solutions
- provisioning of new cloud services in public cloud, such as GCP, Azure and AWS
- Level 2 and Level 3 Support for developed solutions
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Meets directly with client's business users to identify project objectives and business requirements; and with client's IT users to identify technical requirements
- Works within overall project plan and schedule
- Provides feedback to customers and creates structured documentation, including specifications and weekly status reports
- Advises client on configuration and implementation options based on best practices
- Provides expertise and leads technical aspects of sales pursuits
- Participates in the business requirements gathering process for client customizations
- Leads/Supports solution implementation, customization, testing, and deployment, including preparation of test scenarios. Oversees client user acceptance testing
- Acts as a technical mentor for clients in transferring solution critical knowledge
- Collaborates with customer team participants
- Ensures that all implementation methodology deliverables are complete and on-time
- Generates timely project status, time, and expense reports as requested by management
- Highly motivated, creative, self-sufficient with ability to work successfully under pressure
What you'll need
Qualifications
Technical Experience
- Windows / Linux Administration with 8+ years of experience
- 3+ years VMWare virtualization experience
- Previous experience with at least one of Google, Azure, or AWS design and managing IaaS and PaaS environments
- Experience with creating Docker Containers, and container orchestrations eco-system such as Kubernetes, Mesos
- Experience with automation and deployment utilities using Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python
- Experience with coding RESTful APIs
- Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible or Saltstack
- Implemented Infrastructure as a code delivery pipelines using Jenkins or Git
- Experience with web / application servers such as Jboss or Tomcat
Professional Consulting and Business Experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and complex issues and concepts
- Ability to react quickly and take advantage of changing business conditions
- Primarily and individual contributor, but can take a leadership role on as needed basis
- Proficiency with applying different SDLC methods including Agile, Scrum, XP, RUP and Kanban
- Time management skills in a dynamic sales and delivery environments
- Field consulting or professional services delivery experience
- Ability to travel frequently to client locations
- Ability to travel to the US
Educational Experience
- University or College degree required
- Applicable certification in job related skills
