Spring Loaded is a start-up company based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. At Spring Loaded, we are developing unique, proprietary knee bracing technologies in order to enhance the power output of the quadriceps muscles. For athletes, our technology is being designed to offer reduced fatigue, heightened endurance, and increased performance. For individuals with a knee injury or osteoarthritis, our technology is focused on increasing mobility, reducing joint compression, and reducing pain.

Job Mission: 

Secure revenue by consistently meeting and exceeding direct to consumer sales targets. The Business Development Associate (BDA) shall improve overall sales efficiency by providing insight and changes to the current sales process. The BDA will be a part of a high growth team and company. They will be empowered to work independently and with the team to find ways to generate more revenue.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Outcomes of BDA position

1. Ramp up to 17 braces/month by the end of year 1

  • Sell 5 units in the first month
  • Consistently sell 10 units/month from month 2 onward
  • Improve to 17 units/month by month 12
  • Meet agreed upon monthly targets at the beginning of each month that may exceed or be fewer than the forecasted figures above.
  • Contribute to strategies and sales unlocks to help entire team grow to 17 braces/month

2. Maintain a return rate of 5% or less

  • 20% or less in month 1
  • 15% or less in months 2 and 3
  • 10% or less in month 4
  • 5% or less by month 12

3. Successfully complete onboarding process within 2 weeks

  • Become a product, industry, and knee expert
  • Understand and follow all current sales standard operating procedures
  • Begin calling clients within 1 week of starting

4. Complete 10 hours of professional development each month

  • Work with management to identify individual growth areas within the first month
  • Offer potential solutions/training for growth
  • Participate fully in team-wide training sessions

5. Help build a high-performance team

  • Source 1 potential candidate for BDA role each month

6. Other sources of revenue

  • Research and Identify 1-2 business opportunities per quarter
  • Secure $10K of revenue outside of direct sales/year or sell $10K/year more on yearly quota

7. Working with the broader team

  • Offer insights to marketing and customer service teams on an ongoing basis
  • Use insights from marketing and customer service to improve the sales process

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year history of developing pipeline or making high-volume sales over the phone
  • Track record of exceeding sales quotas
  • Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated attentional to detail and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, independently, and through feedback
  • Demonstrated experience performing well within a team and individual setting
  • Demonstrated customer-facing skills, including expectation management, communication skills, and information management
  • A well-developed sense of humor
  • Experience using Hubspot or Salesforce CRM is an asset
  • Formal sales training is an asset
  • Must be available to work on-premises in Burnside, NS
