Cedar Sinai Park is looking for a Baker for our amazing Culinary Department. This will be a part-time benefits elibible, 3 shifts a week, up to 10 hours per shift position. 

The Baker is responsible for creating and preparing kosher baked goodes and desserts for the benfit of residents and their guests. 

What you'll do

Responsibilities

· Prepares a variety of baked goods, pastries & dessert items following company approved recipes and specifications.

· Operates various mixing equipment and bakers ovens.

· Cleans, sanitizes & maintains work station and various baking equipment, utensils & tools.

· Monitors products while baking & cooking to ensure correct doneness of product.

· Decorates & presents various baked goods & desserts in a pleasing way.

· Manages product quality and limit waste to a minimum. Demonstrate good portion control.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions, as well as written instructions and recipes in English. Perform basic mathematical computations. Must possess working knowledge and judgment skills for food preparation, storage, rotation, par level fluctuation, proactive freezer "pulls", handling, production and over production solutions focusing on further usage, and remedies. Must be able to consistently follow recipes and the judgment skills that include tasting of the finished product and if applicable, the adjustment of the recipe with the knowledge and consent of the Executive Chef. Must be able to multi-task skills (working on two or more tasks at the same time.) Must be able to speak, read, and write English at a moderate level. A willingness to take responsibility for all aspects of food preparation, production and service, and to engage in honest and open communication in an open, team-oriented environment.

Cedar Sinai Park's roots are firmly planted within the Portland Jewish Community. In 1920, the need arose for housing for the elderly, and the community responded by furnishing a 16-room Victorian home in the heart of the primarily Jewish neighborhood in Old South Portland. Originally named the Jewish Old People's Home, it served seniors at that location until the 1950s. In 1954, the Board of Trustees purchased and broke ground on seven acres of farmland in southwest Portland, where suburban neighborhoods were beginning to crop up. Today CSP continues to serve our community, residents and patients and has grown to 365 employees. Our motto is Love, Honor, Respect. We're a special team, with big hearts and high standards.
