ACCOUNTANT

J. D. Irving, Limited is a large diversified conglomerate based in Saint John, New Brunswick with over 15,000 employees in Canada, the United States and select international jurisdictions.Our operations span the forestry, transportation, retail, shipbuilding, food & agriculture, consumer products and construction industries.

We are currently looking for progressive and highly self-motivated individuals to join our team in the role of Accountantlocated in Saint John, NB.

Qualifications:

- Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Successful completion or near completion of a designation
- Years of Experience Required:
- 1-3 years relevant accounting work experience
- Have excellent financial acumen, operational understanding and are detailed by nature with a hands on approach.
- Experience in management accounting
- Excellentcommunication, problem solving, critical thinking and strong organization skills are required
- Ability to be flexible, effectively manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Experience with accounting software
- Strong Microsoft Office skill, especially Excel, is a necessity

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial statement preparation
- General ledger reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries
- Prepare period end accruals and variance analysis
- Coordinate internal and external audits
