Spring Loaded is a start-up company based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. At Spring Loaded, we are developing unique, proprietary knee bracing technologies in order to enhance the power output of the quadriceps muscles. For athletes, our technology is being designed to offer reduced fatigue, heightened endurance, and increased performance. For individuals with a knee injury or osteoarthritis, our technology is focused on increasing mobility, reducing joint compression, and reducing pain.
Job Summary
In conjunction with the NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP), Spring Loaded Technology has an immediate opening for a dynamic and results-oriented Operations Analyst (full-time contract). The position is a 6-month contract with potential for extension.
The Operations Analyst role is focused on the creation and delivery of process documentation with an emphasis on documenting operation activity. Reporting into the Accounting Manager, this solutions-focused advisor is responsible for data collection, entering and reporting production activity, and cost tracking. The position liaises with all internal business units to assess opportunities for operational improvements, gather requirements, define business solutions, and implement approved solutions.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
- Collaborate with operations, production, the customer experience team, and subject matter experts to fully analyze and understand existing products, business processes and systems.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting process, including:
- Daily reconciliation of production and inventory levels to on hand amounts of finished goods,
- Identify anomalies, trends and opportunities for improvement,
- Analyze cost accounting data and assist with monthly count/physical inventories,
- Perform all functions related to company revenue transactions and issues associated with invoices adhering to client requirements, and;
- Assist in ensuring timely submission, accuracy and validity of monthly financial statements to the management team.
- Perform credit checks on potential distributor partners and report findings.
- Assist in developing technical, user, and training material related to the current system.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- Bachelor or college degree in Business, Accounting, Mathematics or similar discipline.
- Well-organized, self starting, analytical, and possesses the ability to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
- Disciplined and data-driven approach to decision making and planning.
- Strong presentation skills and demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in both the verbal and written form.
- Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret general business and technical information.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, professional emails and procedure manuals.
Youth Employment Program Specifics
- Between 15 – 30 years of age (inclusive)
- A post-secondary graduate
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
