The Mount Online User Support Specialist provides group demonstrations, individual support sessions, user support, and resource materials to faculty, students and staff who use the Mount Online Learning Platform. The Mount Online User Support Specialist will work as part of a user support team that provides support to faculty in the effective development and teaching of courses using instructional technologies.

The main responsibility of this position is to provide group demonstrations and individual support sessions to users of the Mount Online Learning Platform (Moodle, Blackboard Collaborate and other tools when and if adopted by the department), to respond to user support requests, to assist with preparing for the start of each new term, and to attend online classes at the start of each new term to provide user support. Secondly, the position will provide effective operational and planning support.

A community college diploma or certificate related to supporting online learning technologies is required. A university degree related to supporting online learning technologies is preferred with a minimum of two years experience in a related field of work. Required skills include effective communication skills (both written and verbal); strong task and time-management skills; pro-active work management skills (initiative, predicting work, forecasting demands of business cycle); strong interpersonal skills; be flexible, enthusiastic and have a good desire and ability to learn and utilize new technologies; prior experience with Moodle; strong analytical, evaluating, problem solving, organizational, and prioritizations skills.

The incumbent is expected to:

• Manage changing priorities and be able to work effectively on multiple assigned tasks, allocating time as required with minimal supervision, and multitasking efficiently where appropriate.
• Maintain a good working relationship with users of the Mount Online Learning Platform, IT&S teams, and other departments to ensure a speedy resolution with regards to requests for service.
• Be flexible, enthusiastic and maintain a good attitude, desire, and ability to learn and utilize new technologies, procedures, and processes.
• Seek more effective ways of utilizing existing technology, procedures, and processes so as to improve productivity while enhancing the user experience

Salary Range: $37,650 - $44,959 per annum
