The Halifax Convention Centre, managed by Events East Group, has a rare opportunity for a Sales Manager, National Association within our Sales team. This role will have a strong focus on existing account management, as well as some business development activity within the national association market. 

Reporting to the Director of Sales, our successful candidate will be driven and committed to deliver conference and meeting activity that will continue to leverage Halifax as the premier destination for meetings and conferences and events in Canada.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the management of a strong portfolio of existing National Association accounts. Key to the success of this role will be your ability to build and strengthen relationships and trust with existing and new clients. You will have proven experience and success with converting enquiries into sales with excellent negotiation skills. Some domestic travel is required, as is regular networking and trade show attendance.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Progressive sales experience (5+ years) with a proven track record for business development
  • University degree or equivalent training and experience
  • Strong insights of business to business sales methodologies which will assist you in managing customer accounts and establishing new business;
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements with clients and the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Proven success in the development of relationships
  • Charismatic, professional communicator
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Association market relating to trends and competitive landscape
  • Familiarity with Ungerboeck event management software would be advantageous
