 The perfect Lead Content Creator candidate is someone who has their broadcast writing chops honed, but has a hunger for innovation, collaboration, and to stretch creatively. Our perfect candidate would be a strategic thinker, able to determine messaging strategy and tactics that engages our client’s audience. The Lead Content Creator will be able to take ownership of several assigned projects while leading a small team.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to make work back plans

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with clients through delivery of successful projects
  • Develop strategic approaches along with the ability to manage day-to-day client needs
  • Set client expectations and ensure that client objectives are met
  • Uncover opportunities to create value beyond what the client has requested
  • Confidently drive deliverables through the production process
  • Write: broadcast-style (news-style/doc-style) scripts, online and social media styles
  • Able to develop a range of story styles that are fresh, resonate, have a story arc or theme
  • Oversee video production team while on location
  • Lead a small team of producers / account leads who will rely on you for direction and quality control
  • Collaborate with Creative Director to ensure the illustrators, animators, designers, developers understand your approach and needs
  • Cultivate an environment of ‘no surprises’ meaning that information is shared with your team and other managers to ensure the project is aligned with proposed budget and timeline.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a journalism, communication, media or a minimum five years of equivalent relevant experience
  • Superior written skills including broadcast, online and social media
  • Superior verbal skills
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and clients
  • Track record of relationship building
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams
  • Ideally you know how to video edit at least a rough assembly

We offer work that is enjoyable, challenging, and important. This is a full-time position working out of our office in Toronto’s Studio District (Leslieville area). There may be some (limited) travel.

You MUST have a minimum five (5) years experience.
